Opening Day
Something concerning this new layout feels…not quite right. Sure I like the color red, but to create a layout using mainly red black and grey is bland in comparison to past layout projects. Red is sometimes an irritable color as it is so bright, and though I like the red and black combination, when I think of solace, the first colors that come to mind are blue, grey, and white since blue is such a calming color. Perhaps it’s not too late to change the sky to a light blue in stead of blood red.
I’m sorry I’m freaking out about the aesthetics more than the contents, yet strangely, people who like the aesthetic appeal of a site tend to form confirmation biases such that even if the contents are shallow - to a certain extent - the site is more appreciated than a site not so aesthetically appealing. Appearances are more quickly noticeable than written craftsmanship, and first impressions are pretty important.
If I continue finding faults and fixing them, however, finding an opening date for this site may come more slowly than what’s healthily necessary. Besides, I’m neglecting other projects in the process of developing this one, so I say, “the heck with perfectionism!” This then, shall be my opening day!
Please bare with me as I enter a layout changing frenzy.
Edit on December 31st: There shall be no layout changing frenzies!

Work in Progress
After months of on-off working on this site, I am still busily constructing and editing pages. I have yet to create a layout - aside from this plain temporary red and black one. I’ve selected a few entries from my other blogs, but I haven’t yet posted an entry that isn’t back dated and will stay. Funny how I keep putting up a welcome post and altering the date each time I realize the site is still not fully functional.
This time around, I’ve decided to just post a work in progress entry. Perhaps even if I haven’t decided to tell anyone about my site - or at least not the URL, there still may be viewers out there. Today, for instance, a friendly blogger, also hosted under mysticality.org, posted a comment under an entry. Yay! My first comment.
Currently, I’m concentrating on the structure of my gallery, and importing pictures. Most of the pictures were already displayed on Periscopic Dome (my previous site), but Periscopic Dome died because the the pages were static, which made updating a pain. Also, I wanted to have the blogging feature available so I wouldn’t feel obliged to keep posting new pictures, poems, and such.
Having my own site to post written works will allow me to put more thought into my writing, but at the moment, my eyes are drooping, and my mind is groggy. More writing will come when I feel more alert.
